Angler and Junior Angler of the Year AwardsAs a member of the Yukon Fish and Game Association, you are eligible to enter one of these exciting contests!All you need is the weight, girth, and length of your catch along with a witness signature. Youth are able to submit applications as well – they have their own separate contest. Our prizes include:- custom made filleting knife for the Angler of the Year- engraved plaques - fishing rod and lures for the Junior Angler of the Year Scoring:Our winners are chosen based on the Canadian records for each species. Whoever gets the closest percentage towards the Canadian record for their particular species wins.So, a 5 lb grayling would definitely win over a 20 lv pike or lake trout! We have 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes for both the adult and youth categories. The next time you are out fishing, make sure you record your “catch of the day”. Although photographs of the fish are not necessary, we definitely appreciate them! |
