YOU COUID WIN A FREE CHARTER FTIGHT!
This research project is in its 16th year of studying contaminants in Yukon moose and caribou. No single researcher or team can possibly take a good number of samples from across the Yukon. That's where hunters like you can help.
If you have a successful moose or caribou hunt, please deliver these biological samples to your nearest Yukon environment office before February 1st, 2009.
Kidney (whole)
Liver (size and shape of a pound of butter)
Muscle (size and shape of a pound of butter)
Incisor bar (front teeth)
Each sample should be put in a clean plastic bag and frozen as soon as possible. Samples from different animals should be bagged separately.
All hunters who bring in the requested samples will be entered into a draw on Feb. lst, 2009. Alpine Aviation will provide a $1000 flight for the winner to fry into their favorite hunting spot next year. Each hunter submitting samples will receive the age of their moose or caribou (if a tooth is provided), and results from the study.
This program is made possible with funding from the department of Indian and Northern Affairs and assistance from the Yukon Conservation Society, Alpine Aviation Ltd. and Yukon Environment. |
